How do I stop background processes of Windows from eating too much net?

You can try this method as it will definitely work for you.

1. Click on the connect to Network icon in the task-bar
2. Click on the network you are connected to
3. Then you will see Properties there
4. Click on properties
5. Scroll down
6. You will see set as metered network
7. Click on that
