Difference between apt-get update and upgrade Ubuntu

• apt-get update let your device to get the list of new packages and their some information such as size, their release date but it does not install these files. So what installs these files???????
• Answer is very simple. apt-get upgrade download and install these files which are necessary updates for your device

So, don't have misconception about these two terms. Also while updating your device you need to run apt-get update first and then apt-get upgrade.
